Best Time To Drink Shakeology

When should I drink Shakeology?
What is the best time to drink Shakeology?
Should I drink Shakeology for breakfast?




These are questions I get asked A LOT from my challengers. Everyone wants to know when they should be fitting their Shakeology into their day.

I'll tell you right now that in my opinion there is no right or wrong time. The amazingness of Shakeology is not going to be diminished by not drinking it at a specific time. 

The best time to drink Shakeology is whenever YOU want. 
When it fits best into YOUR routine. Simple as that. 

I'm honestly all over the map, my days vary a lot so when I get my Shakeology can change from day to day. 

Here are a few questions though that you can ask yourself to try and figure out where it will serve you best…

1. Am I busy and in a rush in the mornings and end up hitting the drive through or don't eat breakfast at all?

If you answered YES to this question then having your Shakeology for breakfast would be PERFECT for you. It is so quick and easy to prep and you can even drink it on your way.

2. Do I find myself feeling low in energy part way through the day?

If you answered YES to this question the having your Shakeology as an afternoon snack is the best way to go. You can boost your energy on something actually good for you as opposed to eating or drinking something that will just make you crash an hour later and continue the cycle.

3. Is the evening when I most often start having strong cravings for snacks and treats?

If you answered YES to this question then drinking Shakeology as an evening treat is awesome. Satisfy that sweet tooth with all the goodness of Shakeology and have it taste AWESOME. 

4. Do I need something after my workout to help me recover better?

At this year's Beachbody Summit the results of the clinical studies done on Shakeology were announced to anxious coaches and the results were everything that was expected.

2. Study looked at subjects blood work, weight, BMI, diet, etc.
3. Subjects returned at 30 day intervals for further testing
4. Subjects were required to drink Shakeology twice per day with NO OTHER CHANGES to diet or exercise
5. Subjects tracked daily for accountability 


RESULTS
1. Average weight loss of 10 lbs (some up to 24 lbs)
2. Weight loss occurred over the course of the whole study
3. Cholesterol reduced an average of 7% (max of 50%!!!!)
4. Many reduced cholesterol to the point where pharmaceutical intervention was unnecessary
5. Average blood sugar reduced 5% on average up to 19%

The Right Tool For The Job

Losing weight is like a job, and I've become THE BOSS! One thing I've realized over my ups and down is that you NEED to have the right tool for the job. Just like you wouldn't use a hammer to put in a screw you need to find the right tools for you to get the job done right. Here are some of my favourite tools. 
Food Journal

You will most definitely need some kind of way to track your food. You can do this through a food diary/food journal/food tracker whatever you want to call it. It can be on a piece of paper, on your computer, an app on your phone. However your choose to keep track and whatever every you call it doesn’t matter as much as ACTUALLY DOING IT. Little bites add up all the time and if you don’t really analyze your intake you will never make the connection. Even for me while I eat mostly clean there can be too much of a good thing. There are appropriate portion sizes for everything. If you bite it. You write it.
                                

Get Digital
On the same train as a food journal is a digital scale. This can be an invaluable tool when using a food diary. It is impossible to account and track foods  accurately without the aid of a food scale. 
Fitness is important for healthy weight loss. An active and fit body will burn more calories than a body that is slow or sedentary with little muscle. Using some type of activity tracking device such as a pedometer is a great idea, especially when beginning. When you see how much movement you are (or aren’t) actually getting you can challenge yourself to get more and more each day. Seeing the numbers reflected on the pedometer can be a motivator and give reassurance. There are a wide variety of pedometers and activity counters on the market. 

Portion Size Moderation Tools
Recently Beachbody came out with an AMAZING program called the 21 Day Fix. What I found so cool about it were the cute colour coded containers that really help with making sure you are having the right portion sizes (as well as how many of each portion). If detailed tracking and measuring is NOT your thing then this is certainly a great program to look into. 
Having something to help your measure properly is an excellent tool. It really makes it easy to ensure you are getting all the foods that you do need in the right amounts.

Get Support And Get Ahead
No one can go through difficult journeys alone. Everyone needs a little healthy weight loss help (such as the kind I am providing you here). Along this line is also weight loss support. You will need people who understand your challenges, can commiserate with your down moments, and cheer you with positive reenforcement when you are doing great. Find a group of friends and challenge each other Biggest Loser style, go to a weight watchers meeting, seek out others on line who have the same difficulties. Don’t go it alone. We all need a little help from our friends.

Measuring Your Success

Knowing where you are now and where you want to go are important. 
Sometimes the scale can be your friend and sometimes not. One of the times where the scale can bog you down is when you are strength training and building muscle. Also at times your body may plateau on the scale which leads you to be frustrated. There are other ways to measure your weight loss. Like with a good old measuring tape. You need know though how to measure weight loss correctly. 
Staying Motivated
Motivation is a very important tool for healthy weight loss. Without having the right motivation you head towards crashing and burning. It is your motivation that helps you pick the right foods and get your bum off the couch. Once you all these right tools in your corner AND using them to your advantage you can get rocking on your weight loss.

Attract Good To Your Life

I am a big believer in attracting goodness into your life. HUGE!! It is something that I have experienced many times over in my life since I started understanding The Secret. 



Now that doesn't mean that bad things don't happen to me and my family. We go through some serious hard times BUT we always maintain a positive attitude. We look for the positive. There is ALWAYS a silver lining.

How do you approach adversity? How do you deal with stress? Do you let it roll you over? Do you allow it to take over your life? I used to be that way. Until I started applying very simple steps to my life.

When I began attracting good everything began to change. It wasn't the outside world that changed for me though. Oh no. It was everything inside of me. My perspective. My reactions.

Think about this for a moment. You wake up in the morning. You stub your toe on the way to the washroom. You can't find the shirt you wanted to wear. On and on it goes, your day just keeps getting worse and worse. Simple things that shouldn't get you down end up throwing off your entire day. 

DON'T GIVE NEGATIVITY POWER OVER YOU! 

Throughout your day many things will cross your path. When these are good things, take a moment, revel in it, give thanks for it. When these are bad things, take a moment, mentally reset, release the negativity and continue on.

This can be REALLY hard for some people. Positivity just does not come naturally. It has a lot to do with growth and with personal development. You need to nurture that side of you, coax it out.

Some day soon I will share with you a major incident that happened to our family, how we dealt with it, and how we have turned it from one of the darkest days to a bright shiny rainbow. We are still in the midst of some grey sky and drizzle but very soon we'll be holding that pot of gold.

So enough with the metaphors, analogies, etc. Just be happy. Be joyful. Have gratitude. Rock your day, whatever may come your way.
